MGMT, Black Lips, Breeders, Ting Tings for free pool parties

MGMT, The Hold Steady and The Black Lips are among the acts set to headline the free Pool Parties at McCarren Pool in Brooklyn this summer.

The series will kick off June 29 with The Hold Steady, while a week later Ronnie Spector will headline.

July 13 will see The Breeders perform, with openers Matt & Kim and The Whip, and July 20 will feature slots from Liars, Fuck Buttons, Team Robespierre and a DJ set from Andrew WK.

In what is bound to be a one of the most sought-after free tickets of the summer, MGMT, Black Moth Super Rainbow, and The Ting Tings will take to the stage at the waterless pool on July 27, while The Black Lips, Deerhunter, King Khan and Tall Firs will play the following week.

This is reportedly the last summer of shows at the pool, with development plans in progress to turn it into a pool and leisure centre once again.
