MGMT have announced details of a US tour, which will start in April of this year.

The New York duo will play a series of shows over the next several months, with the trek set to start at Penn State University Park on April 26 and finishing up with a slot at the Bunbury Music Festival in Cincinnati on July 13.

The tourdates should precede the release of the band's third studio album, which will reportedly come out in June of this year. The LP, which will be the follow-up to their last effort 'Congratulations', has been recorded over the past year in a cabin in Buffalo, New York.

Speaking about the record, the band's Ben Goldwasser said: "We're not trying to make music that everyone understands the first time they hear it", while his bandmate Andrew VanWyngarden added of their record label: "There's no illusion on their part that we're going to turn into a Top 40 band. That's kind of comforting."
