MGMT have unveiled the artwork for their forthcoming new album, 'MGMT'.

The artwork is pictured above and sees the band's two members outside a hairdresser/clothes shop. The New York duo, Andrew Van Wyngarden and Ben Goldwasser, will release 'MGMT' on September 16 and recently spoke to NME about the follow-up to 2010's 'Congratulations'.

Of the LP, VanWyngarden said: "We're feeling a little bit more at ease and ready to take whatever comes our way. First and foremost we feel like we've made a really good album that reflects who we are right now, which is a little bit less distraught, nervous and paranoid than we were three years ago. For lots of different reasons, 2010 was a wild ride for us."

Ben Goldwasser added that 'Congratulations' was a "paranoid" album, blaming the lack of a break between touring their 2008 debut 'Oracular Spectacular' and recording its follow-up. "I would say that 'Congratulations' was a more paranoid album [than 'MGMT']," commented Goldwasser. "That was written coming off of a really intense run of touring and we didn't really give ourselves any kind of a break, so the paranoia and lack of feeling that we were in control, I think that came across on 'Congratulations' a lot. The way that we wrote the music, it was intentionally uncomfortable. On the new album we wanted to make something that you could really sink into."

The tracklisting for 'MGMT' is:

'Alien Days'
'Cool Song No 2'
'Mystery Disease'
'Introspection'
'Your Life Is a Lie'
'A Good Sadness'
'Astro-Mancy'
'I Love You To Death'
'Plenty Of Girls in the Sea'
'An Orphan of Fortune'

MGMT will tour the UK later this year, playing four dates in October including a gig at London's Forum.

MGMT will play:

Glasgow ABC1 (October 12)
Wolverhampton Civic (13)
Manchester O2 Apollo (14)
London Forum (16)
