MIA and LCD Soundsystem worked the massive crowd into a dance frenzy at Lollapalooza this afternoon.

MIA's Maya Arulpragasam bravely battled throat troubles during her hour-long set, climbing up scaffolding and dancing furiously to make up for her hoarse voice.

"I lost my voice in LA but it was a long way to get here so I'm doing my best," she said. "(The White Stripes') Jack White Fed-Exed this to my hotel to me today and I'm taking a tip from him," she said, holding up throat spray.

MIA played several tracks from her recent album 'Kala' as well as crowd-pleasers 'Galang' and 'Sunshowers'.

Later in the day while the sun set, LCD Soundsystem gave the evening's headliners a shout out, playing 'Daft Punk Is Playing At My House'.

Dressed casually in white jeans and a T-shirt, James Murphy put his band through the paces during the funky dance numbers.

"I don't have anything to say like 'Are you ready?'" Murphy told the crowd. "What do YOU have to be ready for? We're the ones playing."

LCD Soundsystem played:

'Us v Them'
'Daft Punk Is Playing At My House'
'Time To Get Away'
'North American Scum'
'All My Friends'
'Tribulations'
'Movement'
'Yeah'
'Throw'
