MIA will release an autobiography later this year.

According to publishers Rizzoli, the self-titled tome will be an "autobiographical monograph in collages" and will be released this October. They also have revealed that the 192-page book will include over 300 images and "several unpublished testimonies" from the singer herself.

MIA is also set to release a new album later this year. Last month (February 3), she unveiled the video for her new single 'Bad Girls', which you can watch by scrolling down to the bottom of the page and clicking.

The as-yet-untitled LP will be MIA's fourth studio album and her first for her new label Mercury Records, after she left XL Recordings after the completion of her contract, and is rumoured to feature contributions from Swizz Beats, Cataracs and Chris Brown. It will be the follow-up to her last effort, 'Maya', which was released in 2010.

Earlier this week (March 14), meanwhile, she became embroiled in an online spat with CNN presenter Anderson Cooper. Taking to Twitter after a Channel 4 documentary entitled Sri Lanka's Killing Fields: 'War Crimes Unpunished' was broadcast, she hit out at journalists who previously criticised her stance on Sri Lanka and accused Cooper of calling her a terrorist. The singer, whose father Arul Pragasam is a leading Tamil activist, has always been vocal about the plight of her people in Sri Lanka, and has previously accused the nation's government officials of engaging in systematic genocide.
