Superstar also plans Japan trip

Michael Jackson has returned to the US after being in self-imposed exile for more than a year.

The reclusive superstar left the country following his acquittal in a highly publicised child molestation trial in California in June 2005.

Since then, Jackson has lived in Bahrain, Ireland and France.

“I can confirm that he is in the United States,” spokeswoman Raymone K. Bain told the Associated Press.

In other news, Jackson, who enjoys great popularity in Japan, is planning a trip there and will perform at a VIP party on March 8, where he will meet and greet his fans.

In a recent statement, Jackson said, "I love Japan. It is one of my favourite places in the entire world. My friends and fans in Japan have been so supportive of me and my family for many, many years."

As previously reported, Jackson has been working on new material with Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.I.Am.
