Michael Jackson re-records 'Thriller' with famous 'pals'

Kanye West and Black Eyed Peas stars appear on remake

Michael Jackson has re-recorded his hit album, 'Thriller', with a variety of musical stars, plus has had tracks from it re-mixed.

Jackson has enlisted Will.I.Am of Black Eyed Peas, who reprises the role initially performed by Sir Paul McCartney on the song 'The Girl Is Mine'.

Singer Fergie, of the same band, also appears on the album, singing on 'Beat It'. Kanye West is also reported to have remixed a song on the album.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the record, which is the biggest-selling album ever.

Speaking through a video link at the NRJ Music Awards on Saturday (January 26), Jackson said: “There is a lot more to come from Michael Jackson. I'm coming back. And I've got a very special treat for all my fans.

“I have been recording 'Thriller: 25th Anniversary' with a lot of surprise guests.”

'Thriller: 25th Anniversary Edition' will be released on February 11.

I'm pretty sure he's only re-recording three or four tracks. They'll probably be terrible, but I'm still really interested in hearing them. Whatever the case, it's such a shame that he has to resort to this for a bit of cash. Michael Jackson in 2008 is a truly sad thing.
