Michael Jackson's father Joe excluded from singer's will, according to reports

Information about the 2002 document is revealed

Michael Jackson's most recent will excludes his father, Joe, according to reports.

The document, which was drafted by Jackson in 2002 and is believed to be his most recent, sees the singer leave his estate to his mother, three children and one or more charities.

Sources close to Jackson say that the 2002 will could be submitted to the Los Angeles Superior Court as soon as Thursday (July 02), reports the Wall Street Journal.

Jackson's parents Joe and Katherine Jackson are believed to have been under the impression that the singer died without a valid will.

The 2002 will names lawyer John Branca and music executive John McClain as executers. Branca acted as Jackson's primary attorney from 1980 until 2006. However, reports suggest that Jackson had rehired Branca in the week before his death last Thursday (June 25).

Jackson and his father's relationship was famously tempestuous. Joe Jackson has also been criticised by fans of the singer for talking about his fledgling record company in press conferences following his son's death.

According to reports, Jackson was in debt by around $500 million when he died. However, his assets – which include a 50% stake in The Beatles' back catalogue through Sony/ATV Music Publishing – are rumoured to offset that by around $200 million.
