LA coroner delays release of Michael Jackson autopsy results again

Toxicology reports were expected this week

The Los Angeles County coroner's office announced today (July 29) that it will delay the release of the results from Michael Jackson's autopsy once again.

Coroner's officials said last week that they intended to release the results this week, but Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said today that they don't plan to release them until next week.

Winter did not give a reason for the delay, reports the Associated Press.

Immediately following Jackson's death on June 25, a coroner's spokesperson announced preliminary results in the autopsy, stating there were no signs of foul play or trauma to the body. He also confirmed that Jackson was taking some unspecified prescription medications, but did not confirm which ones.

The toxicology reports should help shed light on which drugs Jackson had in his system, and if they played a part in his death.
