The postponed Michael Jackson tribute concert in Vienna was "badly organised", according to the city's mayor.

According to Mayor Michael Haupl the concert, which organiser Jermaine Jackson had hoped would feature Mary J. Blige, Chris Brown and Stevie Wonder, was not "properly prepared". It will now take place in 2010 in the UK.

The show had been set to take place in Schönbrunn Castle. Haupl said it would have been "very interesting... had it been properly prepared and organised but it was not," reports BBC News.

The city's council had agreed to subsidise the show as it had been expected to bring in revenue through advertising. It was cancelled after artists began dropping out, and the council realised advertising revenue was not going to be as high as anticipated.

A location and date for the UK event have yet to be revealed.
