Michael Jackson posthumously nominated for awards
Late singer up for five American Music Award gongs

Michael Jackson has been posthumously nominated for five American Music Awards.
The late singer is up for artist of the year, favourite pop/rock male artist, favourite pop/rock album, favourite soul/r'n'b album (for 'Number Ones') and favourite soul/r'n'b artist, it has been announced on the AMA website Abc.go.com/shows/american-music-awards.
Jackson is up against Kings Of Leon, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga and Eminem in the artist of the year category. The winners will be decided by fan votes – with voting open on the site now. The results will be announced on November 22.
The singer last released an album of new material, 'Invincible', in 2001.
