A number of items of Michael Jackson memorabilia have gone under the hammer in New York.

The late King Of Pop's famous jewel-encrusted glove – worn when he first performed the moonwalk onstage in 1983 – was sold for $350,000 (£212,000), according to BBC News.

The glove was snapped up by Hong Kong businessman Hoffman Ma, who apparently plans to put it on show in a hotel in Macau, China.

A jacket worn on the singer's 'Bad' tour in 1989 fetched $225,000, while a fedora hat was also snapped up for $22,000.

In total, 70 of Jackson's possessions were sold at the event.

Auctioneer Darren Julien is quoted by BBC News as saying: "It's a tribute to his life and career – he's truly an amazing artist."
