Frank Dileo, the manager of Michael Jackson during his 80s career and most recently on the 'This Is It' tour, has died after complications during surgery.
John Branca, co-executor of the Jackson estate said:
He was not only one of the great veterans of the music business, he was a beloved friend to me and all who were lucky enough to have had him in their lives. He was one of a kind. He was a character. He was an original.
Dileo also managed Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora and worked with Prince and Sheryl Crow.
But it was with Jackson that Frank Dileo had his biggest success, helping 'Thriller' sell over 29 million copies.
While Dileo and Jackson parted company at the end of the '80s, they re-teamed before Jackson's death in 2009.
As well as acting as executive producer on the film Moonwalker, Dileo dabbled on-screen in films such as Goodfellas and Wayne's World as Frankie Sharp of Sharp Records.
Frank Dileo is survived by Linda and his two children, Belinda and Dominic.
