Michael Jackson has sold almost four million singles since his death five years ago.

Figures released by The Official Charts Company show the 'King Of Pop' also show 3.8 albums Jackson have also been bought since then. A spokesperson for the OCC said: "His British fans have downloaded nearly 4 million copies of his singles since that fateful week in 2009. His legacy lives on through his music."

The figure includes sales of two posthumous albums released by his estate – 2010's 'Michael' and 'Xscape', which reached Number One earlier this year – as well as previous studio releases, compilations, soundtracks and live albums.

The most-downloaded Jacko track in the past five years is 'Man In The Mirror', taken from his 1987 album 'Bad'. It has been downloaded 413,000 times. 'Thriller' was second, with around 244,000 downloads, closely followed by 'Billie Jean', with 224,000 sales. Fourth and fifth on the list are 'Smooth Criminal' and 'Beat It', with 189,000 and 171,000 respective downloads. Also on the Top 10 are 'Hold My Hand', which features Akon, 'Love Never Felt So Good', featuring Justin Timberlake, 'Dirty Diana', 'The Way You Make Me Feel' and 'Black Or White'.

Jackson's 1982 album 'Thriller' is the best-selling album of all time, with sales estimated at around 65 million copies, with 'Bad', 'Off The Wall', 'Dangerous' and 'HIStory' all among the Top 100 best-selling albums of all time.

Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009. The cause of death was acute propofol and benzodiazepine intoxication, which caused him to suffer cardiac arrest at his home on North Carolwood Drive in Los Angeles. His personal physician Conrad Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in 2011 and served a two-year prison sentence.
