Punk pioneers Mick Jones of The Clash and Tony James of Generation X are to reunite under the name Carbon/Silicon.

The duo will release their debut EP for digital download on May 21, followed by a 7” vinyl and CD a week later (May 28). The EP features four tracks - 'The News', 'Why Do Men Fight?', 'I Loved You' and 'Ignore Alien Orders'.

Jones and James share a long history together, first collaborating as members of London SS in 1975 before going on to form separate punk bands.

Jones then joined the The Clash and went onto produce The Libertines and Babyshambles.
