Boxing champ pushes it real good on the TV mime-off
Mike Tyson will perform Salt ‘N Pepa’s pop-rap hit ‘Push It’ on Lip Sync Battle later this week.
US cable network Spike has released a preview from this week’s episode of the TV mime-off in which the former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world is seen strutting his stuff to the 1987 club classic, which peaked at Number Two on the UK’s Official Singles Chart.
Tyson’s opponent on Lip Sync Battle, which airs this Thursday (April 23) on Spike, will be American Football player turned actor Terry Crews. Previous episodes have seen Anne Hathaway compete against her The Devil Wears Prada co-star Emily Blunt, which featured Hathaway memorably recreating Miley Cyrus’s notorious ‘Wrecking Ball’ video, and Common square up to his ‘Glory’ collaborator John Legend.
Meanwhile, Lip Sync Battle isn’t Tyson’s only recent musical guest appearance. He also features on ‘Iconic’, a track from Madonna’s latest album ‘Rebel Heart’, which came out last month (March).
