Miles Davies biopic in the works

Don Cheadle to star as jazz legend

A film charting the life on jazz legend is in the works.

The film is set to star and be directed by Don Cheadle who starred in the films ’Crash’ and ’Oceans 11’, and was Oscar-nominated for Best Actor in 2005 for his role in 'Hotel Rwanda'.

The film will be written by Stephen J Rivele and Chris Wilkinson, who wrote the 1995 biopic ’Nixon’.

Cheadle’s manager Kay Liberman said: “Miles pushed the envelope and was never satisfied and kept evolving.”

Variety reports that Cheadle has secured the music rights to the jazz legend's catalogue.

A release date is yet to be announced.
