Miles Kane has revealed that he would love to record a duet with Janelle Monae.

The singer, who has just completed a European tour with Arctic Monkeys, has spoken about his plans for the follow-up to his debut solo album 'Colour Of The Trap' and said he would love to get a duet with Monae on his new album.

Speaking to NME, Kane responded to a question about who he would most like to work with by replying: "I'd love to do a duet with that bird Janelle Monae, I'd love to make a great two-and-a-half minute pop song with her. I haven't put the feelers out, but I could see us working well together."

Kane also spoke about his plans for his second album, revealing that songs titled 'Woman's Touch', 'Shout To The Top', 'Ticking Time Bomb' and 'The Competition' are in contention. Though he has yet to confirm who his producer will be, he did say that he would be meeting with a producer who had worked with Paul Weller soon.

He said of this: "I'm having a meeting with a guy who's done some Weller records in the past. But it's pretty loose, really."

Weller himself has confirmed that he will be working with Kane on new material in the coming weeks. To read full details of this and for more on Weller's new album 'Sonik Kicks', pick up the latest issue of NME, which is on UK newsstands and available digitally now.

Miles Kane will release a brand new EP titled 'First Of My Kind' next month. The singer will release the four-track EP as a limited edition vinyl on April 21 to coincide with this year's Record Store Day, with a digital version set for release on the following day (April 22).

The EP will feature two new compositions, titled 'First Of My Kind', which was produced by Skream, and 'Night Runner'. It will also include a cover of the Tom Jones track 'Looking Out My Window' and an acoustic rendition of the title track from 'Colour Of The Trap'.
