Miley Cyrus is on course to be Number One in both the Official Albums and Singles Chart this weekend, with her album 'Bangerz' and its second single 'Wrecking Ball' both selling well.

Official Chart Company data reveals that the US popstar is ahead of her nearest competition in both charts and, should she stay at the top, will become the first artist to score a chart double in 2013. The winner of this week's chart battle will be revealed on BBC Radio 1 this Sunday (October 13).

Elsewhere in the Official Album Chart, there is a high new entry for Chase and Status with their new album 'Brand New Machine' (2). The album features the London-based duo's recent Top 10 hits 'Lost & Not Found' and 'Count On Me' as well as an appearance by US rapper Pusha T. X Factor alumni Lucy Spraggan is also on course to enter the Top 10 on the Official Albums Chart on Sunday with her album 'Join The Club' (6).

Panic! At The Disco are new at Number Eight, while fellow US rockers Korn are heading for their highest charting UK album in over a decade with 'The Paradigm Shift' (11). Prefab Sprout (13) and Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip (14) are joined in the Top 20 by The Fratellis' We Need Medicine (17), The Feeling's Boy Cried Wolf (18) and Anna Calvi’s One Breath (19).

In addition to Cyrus' 'Wrecking Ball', new entries in the Official Single Chart today (October 9) include Eminem, who is on course for his 20th Top 10 single as a lead artist with 'Berzerk' (2). Meanwhile, Conor Maynard is new in at Number 3 today with 'R U Crazy' with The Saturdays also new in the Top Five with 'Disco Love' (4). New entries in the Top Ten include James Blunt (6), John Newman (7) and Justin Bieber (8).
