Miley Cyrus to perform live at MTV Europe Music Awards
Miley Cyrus will perform at this year's MTV Europe Music Awards.

The pop singer, who is currently Number One in the UK with her album 'Bangerz' and single, 'Wrecking Ball', will perform at the European answer to MTV's VMAs, when it takes place at Amsterdam's Ziggo Dome on November 10. It was at the VMAs in September that Cyrus caused a furore when she twerked on stage with Robin Thicke performing her single 'We Can't Stop'.

Katy Perry and The Killers will also perform on the night, with Justin Timberlake and Macklemore leading the nominations with five nods each, closely followed by Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke on four.

Black Sabbath and Green Day will compete against Kings Of Leon, Queens Of The Stone Age and The Killers in the Best Rock category, while one of Arctic Monkeys, Fall Out Boy, Franz Ferdinand, Paramore and Thirty Seconds To Mars will be named Best Alternative.

Earlier this week Sir Paul McCartney Click this link heredefended Cyrus, saying that "We've all seen worse than that". Admitting that he had watched the performance after hearing about the furore it caused, McCartney said: "I don't think it was explicit at all. You couldn't see anything,"

He went on to add: "I watched it as an experiment to check, but you look at it and you say, 'What's everyone shouting about?' She's a young girl – she's like only 20 or something – and she's just having a go. Someone said to me that the world that people like Miley live in is all noise and they've got to get above the noise. So they've got to do something."
