REM's video for their track 'Blue', which was directed by actor James Franco and features fellow Hollywood star Lindsay Lohan, has surfaced online – scroll down to the bottom of the page and click to watch.

Pitchfork reports that Franco had signed on to direct two videos for songs taken from the band's final album 'Collapse Into Now' and, while his clip for their track 'That Something Is You' has never materialised, the promo for 'Blue' has finally hit the web 18 months after the release of the LP.

REM called time on their 31-year career in September 2011 after releasing 'Collapse Into Now', their fifteenth studio album, in March of the same year. The group released a public statement saying they were "astonished at all we have accomplished" in a career that spanned over three decades but, since then, each member of the band has quashed hopes that they will reunite in the future.

Since going their separate ways, guitarist Peter Buck has debuted music he has made as a solo artist, with his debut track '10 Million BC' surfacing online in June of this year. Neither bassist Mike Mills or frontman Michael Stipe have followed suit, however, with the latter claiming it was "unfathomable" that he would want to embark on a solo career.
