TERROR THREAT FORCES MISSY TO PULL INDONESIA GIG

MISSY ELLIOTT has cancelled a show planned for INDONESIA tonight (May 27) after
US officials issued warnings about potential terrorist
attacks in the country.

The hip-hop queen was due to perform in the
country’s capital Jakarta as part of her current tour
but heightened tensions in the area – many
caused by recent abuse of prisoners in Iraq by US
soldiers – have caused the plug to be pulled.

"We apologize to all the fans of Missy Elliott because of this cancellation," said a
spokesperson for show promoters Lunar
Entertainment.

Billboard reports that the US Embassy issued a
statement on Friday (May 21) reminding American citizens to
remain aware of the "continued potential for terrorist
attacks against Americans or American interests in
Indonesia and worldwide".

Anti-American sentiment stirred up by US actionsin Iraq and "information gathered worldwide indicatingthat terrorist groups contemplate additional attacks" were cited as reasons for heightened awareness.
