Missy Elliott is to follow in Eminem[a/] and [a]50 Cent's footsteps by releasing a film based on her life story.
Universal has announced that the currently untitled project is in development, and has confirmed that Robert De Niro's Tribeca Films will produce.
As with Eminem's new film, a remake of 'Have Gun Will Travel', Missy Elliott's manager will also be involved with the production, according to MTV.
She is the latest in a long line of hip hop artists dabbling in film.
NME.COM recently revealed that OutKast's 'Idlewild' movie is to be released on September 15, after much postponement.
