The forthcoming Online Hip Hop Awards have been postponed until the summer, it has been announced.

Organisers have said they need more time on the show to work on production details. The event, at which Missy Elliott was to receive an award for her work in raising awareness of domestic violence, was due to be held at the Manhattan Center Ballroom on May 3. OutKast, were among those those set to perform, while a host of rap and hip hop stars such as Eminem, Ja Rule and Jay-Z were nominated.

No new date has yet been set.
