MOBY PLANS WHALE OF A TIME ON SUMMER TOUR

MOBY has confirmed details of a summer tour of the US, which will feature a stellar supporting line-up including NEW ORDER, OUTKAST and THE ROOTS, it has been reported.

According to Billboard in the US, the tour will commence on July 11 and call at 16 US cities before August 5. DJ support will come from Carl Cox and Paul Oakenfold.

Speaking about the mini-festival, Moby said: "My reason for doing this is that there is a lot of music in the world that I love that does not always get the appropriate exposure."

The finalised details of the event, including venues and ticket prices will be announced later in the month.

NME.COM revealed last month New Order were planning a series of live dates with Moby to launch their as-yet-untitled new studio album later in the year.

The band are also planning live dates in the UK. Their new single, 'Crystal', is anticipated in "June or July", according to bassist Peter Hook.
