Modest Mouse announce US tour

Modest Mouse have announced the dates of a US tour that is set to kick off next month.

The band will hit the road on February 22, playing shows in cities including Oakland, Los Angeles, Albuquerque, Austin and Atlanta. They'll conclude the jaunt by headlining the Langerado Festival in Miami on March 8.

Grandaddy guitarist Jim Fairchild will join the band on tour, taking over for former Smiths man Johnny Marr, who formerly handled guitar duties for Modest Mouse.

Mimicking Birds, a new band Modest Mouse frontman Isaac Brock just signed to his Glacial Pace label, will support on all dates.

The tour dates are:

Tempe, AZ The Marquee (25)
Albuquerque, NM Convention Center (26)
Boulder, CO Balch Fieldhouse (28)

Oklahoma City, OK Diamond Ballroom (3)
Austin, TX Stubb's (4)
Oxford, MS The Lyric Oxford (5)
Atlanta, GA The Tabernacle (7)
Miami, FL Langerado Festival (8)
