Modest Mouse salute 'British heatwave' at Reading Festival

Modest Mouse paid tribute to the hot weather as they played Reading Festival's Main Stage today (August 28).

Isaac Brock and his band played a selection of songs from across their career as the sun came out – later followed by light rain.

"It's a British heatwave," joked Brock, "my goodness."

As well as hits, including crowd favourite 'Float On', the band brought some of the most challenging music of the day to the Main Stage, such as the understated epic 'Here It Comes'.

However, there was no appearance from Johnny Marr during the set – the former Smiths star was a member of Modest Mouse for their last album, 2007's 'We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank', and now plays with The Cribs, who perform on the same stage later on today.
