MOGWAI: ARE TOURING
Mogwai have announced an eight-date tour of the UK this October and are also recording new material at a studio in Glasgow.

It is likely they will release an EP around the time of the tour, featuring new song 'Stanley Kubrick' which they previewed at T In The Park.

Mogwai have also been recording with producer Arthur Baker on his solo album which will also features Primal Scream's Mani on bass, jazz legend Pharoah Sanders, Talvin Singh and Shara Nelson.

The band will appear on Baker's take on an old Jewish hymn, and frontman Stuart Braithwaite has also played guitar on some other as-yet-untitled tracks. The album release date is "very much up in the air" according to a spokesman for Mogwai.

Meanwhile, fans of the band can hear a previously unreleased track on a new compilation from the band's US label Matador.

The track, 'Hugh Dallas', appears on 'What's Up Matador?', a triple CD/double vinyl compilation also featuring Pavement, The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion and Cornelius. The album's slated for a September release.

Mogwai also appear on Warp Records' tenth anniversary compilation box set, slated for an October release, as previously reported on nme.com. The band have remixed 'Aracadian' by ambient electronica pioneers Link.

After finishing their current recording stint, Mogwai tour the US and then return to play
