The Scots post-rockers head into soundtracks

Mogwai are to appear on the soundtrack of the forthcoming ‘Miami Vice’ movie.

The band will contribute ‘We’re No Here’ and ‘Auto Rock’, both of which are taken from their current album ‘Mr Beast’ . Other acts who will have songs in the movie include Goldfrapp and Nina Simone.

The movie, starring Colin Farrell and Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx, is out later this year.

The band have also announced that as a taster for the CD release of their soundtrack to 'Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait', the Douglas Gordon-directed film of the infamous French footballer, they will release music from the film via download and a vinyl 10” on 21st August.

‘Zidane’ has its UK premiere at the Edinburgh Film Festival in August.

Mogwai’s touring plans for the rest of the year include a prestigious, sold-out date at London Royal Albert Hall on September 22.
