Band play loud but sparsely-attended set to close festival

Mogwai headline T In The Park

Mogwai headlined the King Tut's Wah Wah Tent at T In The Park tonight (July 12), with a loud, if sparsely-attended set.

The Scottish post-rock band played a selection of tracks that spanned the length of their career, culminating in a viciously heavy rendition of 'Batcat' from their last album 'The Hawk Is Howling'.

'I'm Jim Morrison, I'm Dead' went down particularly well with fans, with graceful piano lines from multi-instrumentalist Barry Burns blending into the barrage of noise provided by guitarists John Cummings and Stuart Braithwaite.

The Glasgow band weren't very chatty, except for Braithwaite thanking the crowd profusely between each song.

The King Tut's Wah Wah Tent was less than half-full for the duration of the set, but the noise made by those present was such that it wasn't noticeable.

Despite the band remaining almost motionless throughout, the likes of 'Hunted By A Freak' and 'I Know You Are But What Am I?' were played at full intensity.
