Mongrel play debut gig in London
Glasvegas, The Enemy and Leslie Ash watch supergroup in London
Mongrel played their debut gig last night (November 5) at the Boston Arms in Tufnell Park, London.
The collective – featuring Reverend And The Makers' Jon McClure and Joe Moskow, Babyshambles' Drew McConnell, former Arctic Monkeys bassist Andy Nicholson and rapper Lowkey - played an intimate show at the venue in front of friends and fellow musicians.
Glasvegas, The Enemy and actress Leslie Ash were in the crowd.
The band played a short set, which included 'Lies', 'Julian' and download EP title track 'The Menace' before heading offstage to make way for a beatboxer.
Later on in the evening they returned for a chaotic set that saw a plethora of rappers take the stage to bolster the band, with McClure also inviting musicians from the crowd to join in onstage.
Near the end of the show, the Reverend And The Makers man berated the crowd for not being energetic enough, saying: "If you're not gonna get down here and dance, get out, it's my gig."
