Downloads have made UK chart history for a second week running tonight (April 9) as Morrissey has topped the first ever albums countdown to include digital sales.

‘Ringleader Of The Tormentors’ is number one as from now on the albums chart has integrated downloads with physical sales, brining it in line with the singles poll.

As previously reported, downloads also made chart history last week (April 2) when Gnarls Barkley’s ’Crazy’ became the first song to be number one without a physical release following a change in chart rules which now counts single downloads towards the main chart the week prior to a song’s physical release.

With Barkley’s single out on CD and vinyl this week, it has again recorded a number one with sales that have dwarfed most of the songs in this week’s poll.

The Zutons are this week’s highest new entry at number nine with ‘Why Won't You Give Me Your Love’, while Franz Ferdinand go in at number 14 with ‘The Fallen/I Wells’. Belle & Sebastian’s ‘The Blues Are Still Blue’ is a new entry at number 25.

The top ten singles looks like this:

1. Gnarls Barkley – ‘Crazy’
2. Mary J Blige & U2 – ‘One’
3. Ne*Yo – ‘So Sick’
4. Orson – ‘No Tomorrow’
5. The Kooks – ‘Naïve’
6. Black Eyed Peas – ‘Pump It’
7. Embrace – ‘Nature's Law’
8. Pussycat Dolls Ft Will.I.Am – ‘Beep’
9. The Zutons – ‘Why Won't You Give Me Your Love’
10. Pink – ‘Stupid Girls’

In albums, behind Morrissey’s triumph – his first number one since 1994’s ‘Vauxhall And I’ and his third as a solo artist – Pink is the highest new entry at number three with ‘I’m Not Dead’ while The Flaming Lips’s ‘At War With The Mystics’ goes in at six.
