Morrissey played an unreleased track 'Action Is My Middle Name' on US television programme Late Show With David Letterman this week (January 8) – watch footage of it below.

The performance comes as the singer and former The Smiths frontman embarks on a rescheduled US tour.

The track is one of three new solo tracks unveiled on BBC Radio 2 in 2011. The other two are 'The Kid's A Looker' and 'People Are The Same Everywhere'. He has also played another unreleased track, titled 'Scandanavia', in live sets.

Morrissey released his ninth solo album 'Years Of Refusal' in 2009. Back in 2011, the singer confirmed that he had new material ready. "The follow-up to 'Years of refusal' is ready and fluttering wildly against the bars," he wrote on fansite True To You. "There is still no record label and the years shuffle like cards. My talents do not lie in DIY."
