Morrissey's relationship with photographer Jake Owen Walters has reportedly been removed from the US edition of the singer's memoir, 'Autobiography'.

In the memoir, Morrissey writes that he was involved in a two-year relationship with Walters, which took place in the singer's 30s, though he doesn't specify if they were lovers or not. Morrissey writes that his relationship with Walters marked "the first time in my life the eternal 'I' becomes 'we', as, finally, I can get on with someone".

However, as WENN reports, the US edition of the book, which is published by GT Putnam's Sons, removes a photograph of Walters which features in the original autobiography and takes out his name completely in an account of a night with the Pretenders' Chrissie Hynde.

The book was released in the US on Tuesday (December 3).

After the book's publication in the UK on October 17, Morrissey issued a statement clarifying his sexuality. Writing on fanpage True To You, he said that he is not homosexual but "humasexual".

The statement says: "Unfortunately, I am not homosexual. In technical fact, I am humasexual. I am attracted to humans. But, of course… not many".
