Morrissey cancels Atlanta gig through illness

Singer forced to pull out of gig for the fourth time since December 2012

Morrissey has been forced to cancel a gig in Atlanta, Georgia after being struck down by illness.

The singer was scheduled to perform at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre tonight (June 4) as part of his ongoing US tour but has pulled out of the show. Atlanta Access reports that not only is Morrissey ill but members of his backing band and road crew are too.

The cancellation of tonight's show marks the fourth time Morrissey has pulled out of a show in Atlanta since December 2012. He cancelled the first show after his mother fell ill and subsequently postponed the date twice in 2013 through his own ill health.

Morrissey's upcoming LP 'World Peace Is None Of Your Business' will be released later this year on July 14. Meanwhile, it was reported yesterday (June 3) that the former frontman of The Smiths is reportedly appealing for a new music publisher after his current deal of 30 years ended.

The US tour is currently scheduled to continue this Friday (June 6) in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
