Morrissey has performed live on Alan Carr's Channel 4 talk show Chatty Man.

The former Smiths frontman had been scheduled to appear on the show back in March but was forced to pull out at the time.

Now Morrissey, who recently published his first novel, has performed his song 'Kiss Me A Lot' on Friday night's episode. The track is lifted from the singer's latest album 'World Peace Is None Of Your Business', which was released in 2014.

Morrissey published his novel List Of The Lost last month. It is the singer's first effort at fiction after entering the literature world with his best-selling memoir Autobiography in October 2013.

The book tells the story of a relay team cursed by a demon. It has been criticised, in particular, for its poorly written sex scenes.

It is being considered for this year's Bad Sex In Fiction Award, organisers have confirmed. The Bad Sex In Fiction Award was launched in 1993 to "draw attention to the crude, tasteless, often perfunctory use of redundant passages of sexual description in the modern novel, and to discourage it".

One passage in particular reads, "Eliza and Ezra rolled together into the one giggling snowball of full-figured copulation, screaming and shouting as they playfully bit and pulled at each other in a dangerous and clamorous rollercoaster coil of sexually violent rotation with Eliza’s breasts barrel-rolled across Ezra’s howling mouth and the pained frenzy of his bulbous salutation extenuating his excitement as it smacked its way into every muscle of Eliza’s body except for the otherwise central zone."

Bookmakers Paddy Power have offered odds of 4-1 for Morrissey to win this year's Bad Sex In Fiction Award.
