Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee has announced that he will performing on a 'drum rollercoaster' during the band's UK tour this December.

The band will undertake a joint UK arena tour with Def Leppard next month, which will seem them play six shows, with hair metallers Steel Panther providing support on all dates.

The gigs kick off on December 6 at Birmingham's LG Arena and run until December 14 when the tour hits London's Wembley Arena.

As part of the band's set, Lee will perform a drum solo where he is launched into the air on a fixed rail. His kit will then be spun over multiple loops while pyrotechnics go off in the background. You can see a video of Lee in action by scrolling down to the bottom of the page and clicking.

Lee said of his stunt: "This idea came about from when I was a kid going to concerts. Whenever the drummer started his drum solo, I wondered why people would leave to go get a beer, buy a t-shirt, restroom, whatever! I wanted to show people what happens behind the drum set, so I decided to expose it all by flipping the drums vertical, upside-down making them disappear and fly over the audiences heads!"

Glasgow S.E.C.C (9)
Manchester Evening News Arena (11)
Sheffield Motorpoint Arena (13)
London Wembley Arena (14)
