Original grungers Mudhoney are back in the studio recording their first new material for three years.
The Seattle-based band’s follow up to 2002’s ’Since We’ve Become Translucent’ is planned for release in 2006.
Founder of the band’s legendary label Sub Pop, Johnathan Poneman, told Billboard: "The stuff I've heard is amazing. It's more political than they have been. It's not overtly political, like protest songs, but it is great Mudhoney."
The band will take a break from recording to play three shows in the UK, including two in London as part of the ’Don’t Look Back’ series, playing their classic album ’Superfuzz Bigmuff’.
The dates are:
Dublin The Village (September 15)
London Koko (September 16-17)
