Mumford and Sons' Ben Lovett has said that the band have had talks about a secret collaboration for their forthcoming Reading And Leeds Festivals appearance.

The band are set to play on the NME/Radio 1 Stage at the August 27-29 event.

"There have been some conversations [about a collaboration for the show] but I don't want to say in case it doesn't come through," keyboard player Lovett told NME.COM. "If something happens it happens. Right now we're very much enjoying the post-tour comedown."

Lovett added that he was particularly looking forward to seeing Arcade Fire at the festivals, and admitted that he didn't think his band would have been ready to step up to play such an event until recently.

"For the last couple of years at least we kind of shied away from being capable of playing a festival like Reading and Leeds," he said. "We did Glastonbury the last two years but at Glastonbury you can be a small band and not have to worry about if you can hold a crowd. It's given us a certain amount of confidence to do this, this summer."
