Mumford and Sons have announced they have completed work on their second album, the follow-up to 2009's 'Sigh No More'.

"We're done recording it," keyboard player Ben Lovett reveals in this week's NME, which will is available on newsstands from today (May 2) and digitally. "But if we listen back while we're mixing and discover it's shit, we'll just start again. We're not going to put it out until it's good enough."

The band have already started playing a selection of new songs live, which Lovett say has helped 'shape them" because "we get to listen to them through the crowd's ears" he says.

Mumford & Sons will stage two festivals this summer.? The first event will take place at Huddersfield's Greenhead Park on June 2, with Michael Kiwanuka, Willy Mason, The Correspondents and Nathaniel Rateliff also on the bill. ??The second will happen a week later on June 9 at Galway's Salthill Park, with The Vaccines, Zulu Winter, Nathaniel Rateliff, Willy Mason and The Correspondents are also booked to play the event.

Speaking to NME about the two events, the band's multi-instrumentalist Winston Marshall said: "We know there are shitloads of festivals in Britain and no-one needs a new one. But what we thought was missing was a high-quality, inner-city event where you can take over the city itself".

As well as the festivals, the band will play a small UK tour to road test their new material.
