GIVE HIM A HAND!

The band will have a replacement bassist - but Chris Wolstenholme will still be onstage...

MUSE have confirmed the full extent of the injuries to bassist CHRIS WOLSTENHOLME.

As exclusively revealed on NME.COM earlier this week, the band will be joined by [a][/a]’ bassist Morgan Nicholls for their forthcoming shows including V Festival this weekend (August 21-22), after Chris injured his hand while on the Curiosa tour in the US.

Now, confirming our scoop, the band have issued a statement saying Nicholls will be playing the shows, including a European festival and Australian tour.

The statement continues to say that the bassist has "fractured the scaphoid bone in his hand" and will remain in plaster for the next six weeks.

Although there’ll be a replacement bassist Chris will be onstage with his band, performing backing vocals and keyboards.

Muse close the V Festival at Hylands Park and Weston Park in Stafford.
