Muse top NME chart

They knock The View from the top

Muse’s ’Starlight’ has topped the NME Chart, knocking The View’s ‘Wasted Little DJs’ from the Number One slot.

Muse continue a successful bank holiday weekend, after their acclaimed performances at this weekends Carling Reading and Leeds festivals.

Other new entries in the chart include Be Your Own Pet at Number Four with ’Bicycle Bicyle’, The Rapture who re-enter the chart at Number Nine with ‘Gotta Get Myself Into It’.

This week’s NME Chart is:

1. Muse - ‘Starlight’
2. Arctic Monkeys – ‘Leave Before The Lights Come On’
3. The Fratellis - ‘Chelsea Dagger’
4. The View – ‘Wasted Little DJs’
5. Be Your Own Pet - ‘Bicycle, Bicycle ’
6. Yeah Yeah Yeahs - ‘Cheated Hearts’
7. Kasabian -‘Empire’
8. Thom Yorke - ‘Harrowdown Hill’
9. The Rapture - ‘Gotta Get Myself Into It’
10. Spinto Band - ‘Oh Mandy’


Will Muse be able to hold onto the top spot when the The Vines return next week with ’Don’t Listen To The Radio’ and Wolfmother come back with ’Love Train’?
