Muse have been approached to play a major gig to raise awareness of global warming.

The concerts are rumoured to be backed by Al Gore, the former US vice president behind the Oscar-nominated global warming film ’An Inconvenient Truth’.

Drummer Dom Howard said: “We’ve been asked. I think it will happened in seven continents around the world, all on the 7 July.”

He told the BBC there were “a lot of bands playing”.

The band won the BRIT award for British Live Act earlier this week (February 14).
