Muse receive honorary degrees Muse Tickets

Band don traditional gowns at the University of Plymouth

Muse have been awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Arts by the University of Plymouth.

The band, who hail from Teignmouth, returned to Devon to collect their awards in person last week (September 25).

Matt Bellamy, Chris Wolstenholme and Dom Howard each dressed in the traditional gowns and hats to receive their degrees, which were presented alongside those awarded to the university's student graduates, reports The Herald.

Speaking about the presentation, Matt Bellamy said: "I'm pretty sure we're not worthy.

"It's nice to be part of something down here in the West Country. We never went to university so it really means a lot to us."

It's 'histrionic' actually and it's spelt 'mewling'. And a great deal of us relish it a lot more than tedious kitchen sink indie.

cheers neffhead....does that mean i got cauterwalling right?....origins of symetry was a good record but it seems as if they are more interested in overblown pomp than yer actual tunes....i know what you mean about kitchen sink indie and i have to say that the pigeon detectives, the rascals and kaiser chiefs such major bollock
