Muse blasted back to the live arena with an epic homecoming show last night (September 4).
The space-rock three-piece played the first of two shows on a specially-erected stage outside The Den venue, on the seafront of their hometown Teignmouth. Video footage from the event can be watched below.
In front of 10,000 fans, they gave the live debut to three tracks from forthcoming new album 'The Resistance'. Opening with lead single 'Uprising', Muse went on to play the near-title track of the album, 'United States Of Eurasia' and the electronic flavoured 'Undisclosed Desires'.
Fan favourites 'Plug In Baby' and 'Knights Of Cydonia' were also included in the set, while the band acknowledged their formative days by dusting off early track 'Cave', which pre-dates even their debut album 'Showbiz'.
With the small show contrasting with Muse's last UK show being at last 2008's V Festival, production was kept to a minimum, and a clearly nervous Matt Bellamy said little during the set.
