Muse have revealed plans to mark their 20th anniversary next year.

The Teignmouth trio are planning a series of special shows in 2014 to mark two decades together. Drummer Dominic Howard told XFM: "It's our 20th anniversary year and I can't believe it – it's February next year or something, so I think we'll definitely do something special for it. Hopefully [we will] do some special shows for it or something. It will be nice to celebrate that and play some little club somewhere and go, 'Jesus Christ, can't believe we're 20 years old as a band!'"

Muse formed in 1994 and released their first, self-titled EP in 1998. They have since released six albums, the most recent being 'The 2nd Law' in 2012. They are due play four shows in the UK this summer, starting in Coventry on May 22, before two shows at London's Emirates Stadium, home to Arsenal FC, on May 25 and 26. The short jaunt will end in Manchester on June 1. Dizzee Rascal will support on all dates.

Muse will play:

Coventry Ricoh Arena (May 22)
London Emirates Stadium (May 25, 26)
Manchester Etihad Stadium (June 1)
