Muse's Matt Bellamy: 'I've got two cats called Kim and Kanye'

The frontman shares his views on Kanye West

Matt Bellamy has said he's named his pet cats Kim and Kanye, despite not really listening to Kanye West's music.

The Muse frontman spoke about the rapper in an interview with Radio.com alongside drummer Dom Howard – watch it above. He said that although he liked some of the sounds West had used on his most recent album 'Yeezus', he hadn't listened to much of it.

"I've listened to bits of that new record ['Yeezus']," said Bellamy. "I like some of the sounds, but some of the lyrics of those artists throw me off a bit. It's very full on, in your face, it's very 'me, me, me'."

His bandmate Howard, meanwhile, listed 'Yeezus' as one of his favourite albums at the moment and said he enjoyed watching West's interview with Zane Lowe.

"You start off thinking 'what the fuck is he talking about'," said Howard. "By the end of it he justifies his comments. I kind of like Kanye because he's giving one of these [sticks middle finger up] to the man."

Earlier this week (December 3), Bellamy said that the band's next album will see a change in tone from 2012 album 'The 2nd Law', comparing it to a "comedown" from their musical ambitions and live shows.

"I've got a pretty good picture of what I'd like the next album to be like," he said. "It's the comedown and the sort of waking up the next day being like, 'What the fuck? What the fuck? That was crazy'...I kind of feel like it will be nice to reconnect and remind ourselves of just the basics of who we are," he said.
