The alternative music festival was originally conceived by Jane's Addiction singer Perry Farrell in 1991 as a farewell show for his band and ran annually until 1997, before being revived in 2003. Now it has been announced that Farrell will be performing a DJ set at the Berlin festival.

Already confirmed as co-headliners alongside Muse are Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and The Libertines. British electronic duo 2 Bears, comprised of Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard and 1965 Records’ Raf Rundell, will also be performing at the festival.

Muse will be performing at a series of music festivals this summer, starting at Rock in Vienna this Friday (June 5) to promote their new album, 'Drones', out next Monday (June 8).

Frontman Matt Bellamy recently claimed that 'Drones' is Muse's best album, admitting, "That’s not something I’ve been able to say for a while."

The singer also described the band's forthcoming record' as "a move towards being more human, rather than technology-based", and admitted that it "was quite difficult for me to make at certain points. My personal life went through a bit of a shift", referring to his split from actress Kate Hudson.

Bellamy also told NME about visiting the White House and talking conspiracy theories with former Secretary Of State Colin Powell.
