NME RUSSIA LAUNCHES

Editorial content will mirror its British parent by maintaining a commitment to championing new, underground music.

NME launched its first foreign language edition in Russia this week.

The Russian edition is a glossy A4 magazine rather than the British A3 newspaper format, with pullout posters. However, editorial content will mirror its British parent by maintaining a commitment to championing new, underground music.

The debut issue has Slava Vakarchuk of Ukranian group Okean Elz on the cover, and features on the bands Splin, Vopli Vidoplyasova and Dva Samolyota, as well as translated articles on Muse, Placebo and Nelly Furtado.
