Tupac Shakur’s screenplay ‘Live 2 Tell’ to go into production in 2012

Rapper wrote script in prison in 1995

Live 2 Tell, the screenplay Tupac Shakur wrote during his spell in prison in 1995, will go into production next year.

The rapper, who died in 1996, wrote the script while serving a prison sentence for sexual assault. It said to tell the story of a teenage drug baron who attempts to leave behind a life of crime. The film will be overseen by producers Preston Holmes and Ivan Juzang, who also produced the 2003 documentary about the rapper, Tupac: Resurrection.

Speaking to Variety, Juzang said: “This kid [2Pac] was a genius, and the net of it is, he was from this community, he knew the struggles these young people were dealing with. He’s able to talk to young people in 2011, 2012, the same way he was able to talk to young people in 1995.”
